The HD PRO 7" Wool Cutting Pad uses a flat, short pile design to cut and level paint safely and efficiently. The pad uses a 1-inch fiber blend that makes the pad less aggressive and more efficient at cutting 1500 grit sanding scratches and leveling light to moderate defects.
Unlike traditional wool cutting pads, HD PRO 7.5" Wool Cutting Pads are flat. The flat pad design offers more cutting area, smooth operation, a cooler surface and virtually no splatter. When used with the HD FlexPlate Professional Backing Plate, the operator can use the flat wool pad to feel panel edges and body contours while keeping the pad flat to the surface. This allows the operator to use the pad without tipping the machine to buff in sensitive areas.
The HD UNO 7.5" Wool Cutting Pad has a 1 inch pile length vs. the typical 1.5 inch or longer pile on most wool pads. Previous generation wool pads needed a longer pile for cushioning and worked well with solvent-based polishes. The new shorter wool blend takes advantage of the latest generation of water-based polishes, helping to achieve the longest open time possible for increased cutting without creating swirls.
